Introduction
In 2017, O2 Capital Partners invested in HEBO, a maritime service provider headquartered in Zwartsluis. The second generation of the family had been at the helm for several years by then and had clear growth ambitions. For example, there were plans to expand the fleet and to further grow the business in Rotterdam. That ambition aligned with what O2 Capital Partners stands for: supporting entrepreneurs in realizing concrete growth plans.

In summary
O2 Capital Partners immediately demonstrated its confidence in the family’s vision by acting swiftly. After just four months, the purchase of the HEBO-lift 9 marked the largest fleet expansion to date. A new location in Rotterdam was also secured to facilitate further growth. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, the partners subsequently made significant joint investments in professionalizing the organization.
A CEO and CFO were brought in from outside the company, business processes were streamlined, and O2 Capital Partners provided practical support to the sales and maintenance organization to prepare HEBO for the next phase. These efforts paid off in 2022–2023 with the rollout of a major investment program and the completion of the long-awaited andstrategically important merger with Bonn & Mees.
After seven wonderful years, this successful partnership has come to an end, and the financially sound company—which has retained its unique family DNA—has been returned to the family.
