Introduction
ELK Group is a property maintenance company based in Nijmegen, built on a clear core value: No Hassle. When the Van Elk family was considering the company’s future in 2017, discussions with strategic buyers didn’t feel right. Too complex, too much loss of identity. O2 Capital Partners saw a different path: not selling, but building together.

Waterland PE — Ready for the Next Phase
Waterland Private Equity Introduced as a Partner for the Next Phase of Growth
In summary
After the initial meeting with O2 Capital Partners, Roel van Elk knew which path he wanted to take: to grow the company on his own terms, without handing it over to a strategic buyer or a dominant investor. Together, we opted for a buy-and-build strategy: Roel remained at the helm, while O2 Capital Partners contributed capital, expertise, and its network to help realize that ambition.
In six years, ELK Group grew from a well-run regional maintenance company into a national player with approximately €135 million in revenue and three acquisitions under its belt.
To support the next phase of growth, O2 Capital Partners brought in Waterland Private Equity as a new partner, enabling ELK Group to continue growing on the foundation they had laid together.
“With O2 Capital Partners, we didn’t have an investor telling us what to do, but a partner who helped us do what we already knew we could do.” Roel van Elk, CEO
